Spanish filmmaker who has made multiple short films including La Casa and Lucas. He has won numerous awards at festivals such as the Málaga Festival and Sundance Film Festival. He has a popular YouTube channel Álex Montoya, which has attained 1 million subscribers. On his channel, he has mainly posted clips from his short films as well as behind-the-scenes footage.
In 1999, he released his first short film REC. In 2002, he followed up with his second short film Te Quiero.
In addition to being a film director, he is also a writer and a producer. In 2019, he released his first feature film titled Asamblea.
He was born in Valencia, Spain.
He and fellow filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona were both born in Spain.
