ABOUT AB JENKINS

Known as the World's Safest Speedster, he was the pioneer of salt racing, and the Pontiac Bonneville is named in his honor.

He began his career by racing a Union Pacific train in his Studebaker.

In addition to his racing career, he served as the 24th mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, near where he spent most of his life.

He and NBA star Karl Malone are two of Utah's most popular athletes.
