Abiy Ahmed Ali

ABOUT ABIY AHMED ALI

Politician who was elected Prime Minister of Ethiopia in 2018. He served as the leader of the Prosperity Party. In 2019, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to resolve his country's conflict with Eritrea.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the Microlink Information Technology College in Addis Ababa.

In June 2021, various countries called for his Nobel Peace Prize to be re-considered because of war crimes committed in Tigray.

He and his wife Zinash Tayachew have three daughters, Deborah, Rakeb, and Amen. They have a son named Million Abiy.

In June 2018, he met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-sisi in Cairo.
