ABOUT ABRAHAM BEAME

The 104th Mayor of New York City from 1974 to 1977. He belonged to the Democratic Party and was one of the city's shortest mayors.

He co-founded an accounting firm, Beame & Greidinger while still in college.

He was the first practicing Jew to be elected the Mayor of New York City.

His parents were Polish Jewish immigrants.

Like Michael Bloomberg he was a Jewish Mayor of New York City.
