German pianist and composer whose prowess amazed some of history's greatest, including Tchaikovsky and Franz Liszt .
Her talent moved American pianist and chronicler Amy Fay to call her "a little fairy of a scholar." Fay declared her rendition of a Beethoven concerto to be perfect.
She played for Tchaikovsky's final concert in St. Petersburg. At this concert, the Pathetique Symphony was unveiled.
She married Hungarian conductor Anton Seidl .
