Alaina Coates

ABOUT ALAINA COATES

Basketball star who emerged as a top player for the University of South Carolina between 2013 and 2017. She made her WNBA debut with the Chicago Sky in 2018. In 2023, she joined the Las Vegas Aces. She won that year's WNBA Finals with the Aces.

She played for Dutch Fork High School and was named Gatorade South Carolina Player of the Year for 2013.

She established a faith-based non-profit organization called the Alaina Coates FAAM Foundation. She has used her organization to promote literacy and a love of reading.

Her father, Gary Coates, passed away in 2018. Her uncle, Ben Coates, played as a tight end for the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens .

She became Kierstan Bell 's teammate upon joining the Las Vegas Aces.
