ABOUT ALBERT FERBER
Swiss classical pianist and teacher who was primarily a solo recitalist.
He mastered a breathtaking repertoire, including J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven , Johannes Brahms , and Franz Schubert .
He debuted Lennox Berkeley's Six Preludes for Piano in July 1947 at Broadcasting House and Gerhard's Three Impromptus at the Wigmore Hall in May 1951.
He was born in Lucerne, and his parents ensured that he had access to the finest teachers in Switzerland, Germany, and France, including Karl Leimer, Walter Gieseking, and Marguerite Long .
He played for Sergei Rachmaninoff while studying in Switzerland.
