Alex Zanardi

ABOUT ALEX ZANARDI

Winner of back-to-back CART series championships in 1997 and 1998.

He began racing karts when he was 13, and at 21 he joined Formula Three.

Following a horrific crash that resulted in the loss of his legs, he took up handbiking, and won two gold medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.

He married Daniela Zanardi in 1996, and has two children with her.

He is best friends with fellow racer Max Papis .
