Russian journalist known as co-owner of the Echo of Moscow radio station. He also founded Diletant history magazine.
After he graduated college, he worked as a postman and a history teacher.
In 2006, he co-hosted the television show In the Circle of Light.
His father was a navy submarine officer, killed before he was born. His mother was a doctor.
