ABOUT ALLEN DRURY
A Twentieth-century American fiction writer, he is best known for his 1959 novel, Advise and Consent, which received the Pulitzer Prize in 1960.
Prior to pursuing a career as a novelist, he served in the U.S. Army as an infantry soldier.
He won a Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for his editorial writing.
He was a descendant of Hugh Drury and Lydia Rice. He never married.
He admired the political career of Robert Taft .
