ABOUT ALPO MARTINEZ
Former drug kingpin known for his notorious ways throughout the 1980's and 1990's in New York and Washington, D.C. After serving a 35-year sentence for 14 counts of murder, he was released in 2015 and put into witness protection due to his cooperation with legal authorities.
At the age of 13, he started selling drugs on the eastside of Harlem, before eventually connecting with former westside Harlem drug kingpins Azie Faison and Mitch Porter.
The October 2002 crime drama film Paid in Full was written about the prosperous yet bone-chilling relationship between himself, Faison and Porter.
He was a native of Spanish Harlem, which is considered the eastside of Harlem. He grew up living with his mother and his one sister. He was born of Puerto Rican descent.
