She is one of the Slaton sisters, who are the stars of the show 1,000 LB Sisters. She joined the cast of the show to help motivate Tammy and Amy in their weight loss journey. Amanda at one point underwent bariatric surgery, which aided her in losing half of her body weight. Fans enjoy the fact that she does not put up with Tammy's attitude. In one episode, she famously told Tammy to get out of her chair and come at her.

She joined the cast of the show in season 3, which premiered on Nov. 15, 2021.

Throughout the series, she expresses her worries about her sister's ability to make progress, citing their overindulgence in food with low nutritional value and alcohol. She posts family photos on her amandahalterman Instagram page, which has amassed 80,000 followers. Her maiden name is Combs, as she is a half-sister to the Slaton sisters.

The show's main family members consist of her, Misty Wentworth, Darlene Slaton, Chris Combs , Tammy Slaton, and Amy Slaton. She has four children. She married Michael Halterman in 2019.

She is the sister of Tammy Slaton .
