ABOUT AMARI WHITING
Gained fame as a basketball player and athlete for Brigham Young University (BYU). She has led BYU in assists per game at 3.7 and steals with 1.5 per contest. She made history as the first player in BYU women's basketball history to achieve a triple-double.
She attended Burley High School in Idaho and was named 'Girls Idaho Gatorade Played of the Year' in 2022.
She was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week on February 12, 2024. She is the Cougars' third-leading scorer at 10.6 points per game.
She comes from a basketball family. Her parents, Trent and Amber Whiting, were also basketball players at BYU in 2000-2001. Her older brother, Jace Whiting, plays basketball at Boise State University .
She was a standout women's college basketball athlete much like Caitlin Clark .
