She began writing stories at the young age of five to improve her English skills. At the young age of 12, she picked up her first romance novel. She later majored in international relations while at university.
Her novel, "If We Ever Meet Again" was inspired by her study abroad adventures in China. Her books have been translated into over two dozen languages and have been featured in NPR, Cosmopolitan, The Financial Times, and Glamour UK.
She is the daughter of Chinese immigrants. She currently lives in New York.
