ABOUT ANDREW CUOMO

Democratic politician who became New York's 56th Governor in 2011. President Bill Clinton appointed him the 11th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in 1997.

He was his father's top aide when he made the run for Governor of New York in 1983

He kept his campaign promise by signing same-sex marriage legislation on June 24, 2011 because he believed that other states should look to New York for progressive direction.

He was married to Kerry Kennedy , the seventh child of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy , for 13 years and had three children with her. He dated TV chef Sandra Lee from 2005 until 2019.  His brother is former CNN news anchor Chris Cuomo .

Former Governor Mario Cuomo is his father.
