Russian pianist who became known for his advanced technical arrangements and his massive repertoire of multiple composers.

He studied at both the Moscow and Paris Conservatories.

He was said to have "everything: imagination, color, passion, and a phenomenal technique to carry out his ideas" by his record producer for Sony Classical, Thomas Frost.

His parents were both singers, and he initially pursued both singing and conducting before settling on piano.

His repertoire featured the works of Vladimir Horowitz .
