His parents were part of a band called Comanechi when they met. He grew up playing soccer as a boy.
He primarily resided with his mother in England. His father gained fame in 2022 when the 4th season of Stranger Things was released.
He is half Japanese from his mother's side.
His father later began dating his Stranger Things co-star Natalia Dyer .
