ABOUT ARMANDO MARTíNEZ
Light middleweight boxer at the 1980 Summer Olympic Games who took home gold by defeating Aleksandr Koshkyn in the championship match. He was 18 years old. He stands at 5 feet 11 inches and weighs approximately 157 pounds.
He won an earlier medal at the 1978 World Championships when he took home the silver.
He also won a silver medal at the 1982 World Championships in Munich.
He was born in Majagua, Ciego de Ávila, Cuba.
He took home an Olympic gold medal in boxing just James Degale did.
