ABOUT ARMSTEAD EDWARDS
Best known as the ex-husband of R&B icon Patti LaBelle . The couple divorced in 2003 after nearly 32 years together. He appeared in a handful of movies and TV shows, including Out All Night and Journeys In Black.
He worked as a schoolteacher and vice principal. He was a longtime friend of LaBelle's.
He also served as LaBelle's manager during the time they were married. His sporting talent was said to have helped her music career.
He and LaBelle have three children named Zuri, Stanley, and Dodd. They were married from 1969 until 2003.
He appeared alongside Cyndi Lauper and Bill Cosby in The Patti LaBelle Show.
