ABOUT ART LANDE
Founder of Rubisa Patrol, a jazz quartet. He was known as a master improvisational jazz pianist.
He studied at Williams College and eventually relocated in 1969 to the San Francisco Bay Area.
He often used anagrams of his names as titles for his records, including Red Lanta from 1974 and The Eccentricities of Earl Dant from 1977.
His family recognized his talents early on, and he began studying piano at the age of four.
His 1996 album Friday the Thirteenth featured 13 different compositions by Thelonious Monk .
