ABOUT ARTHUR SHEPARD
American composer, conductor and music teacher. He composed over 100 works, including symphonies, string quartets and songs.
He was raised in a Mormon family. He studied at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and later taught there.
In 1927, he composed his first symphony, Horizons.
His father, William N. B. Shepherd, wrote the hymn "Give Us Room That We May Dwell."
He is one of many famous composers, including Johann Sebastian Bach .
