ABOUT ARTHUR M. YOUNG
Philosopher and helicopter pioneer who was remembered for designing Bell Helicopter's first helicopter.
He matriculated from Princeton University in 1927. He spent 12 years following graduation on his father's Pennsylvania farm developing the helicopter.
He founded the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in Berkeley in 1972. He was a proponent of process theory, evolution, and the great chain of being.
His father was a landscape painter in Philadelphia. He divorced first wife Priscilla Page in 1948.
He and author Rebecca Goldstein both studied at Princeton University.
