ABOUT ASHOK CHAVAN
Indian politician known as Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 2008 until 2010 and also served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in Vilasrao Deshmukh government.
He earned a Master's in Business Management graduating in Science and started his political career as General Secretary for the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.
He also served as President of the charitable organization Sai Sevabhavi Trust Nanded.
He married Ameeta Sharma-Chavan and they have two children.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi named him as Chief Minister of Maharashtra in 2009.
