ABOUT BARBIE KYAGULANYI

Book author and philanthropist most recognized for being the founder of the Caring Hearts Uganda initiative which focuses on children leadership empowerment, HIV/AIDS, menstrual hygiene, and education. She has also gained recognition from her 2012 book Golden Memories of a Village Belle. Due to her notoriety, she has amassed just over 1.1 million followers on her barbiekyagulanyi Instagram account.

Prior to her career as a philanthropist, she attended Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. She later received her master's degree from the University of London.

Due to her notable career as an activist, she has received over 4 different social awards. Most notably, she was given the 2020 Excellence in Leadership award by The AidChild Leadership Institute in Uganda.

She lives along with her husband, Bobi Wine , and their four children. She and her husband were first married in 2011.

She shares a September 7th birthday with Gloria Gaynor and Shannon Elizabeth .
