ABOUT BEHZAD BOLOUR

Senior producer and presenter of BBC Persia who is the creator and director of the show Crystal Violet. He has been active in youth music programs since the formation of his career - he started working in entertainment at BBC Persia Radio, and while there, he began Seventh Night, a program focused on young, undiscovered Iranian talent.

He left Iran when he was 13, after the Iranian revolution. He has a degree in fashion and interior design.

He arrived in Afghanistan only days after the fall of the Taliban regime, and was one of the first journalists on the ground there. He used his exposure to open a network for underground Afghani musicians.

He is a member of the Bolurfrushans, a powerful Iranian family of crystal vendors.

He has given a voice and platform to artists such as Mohsen Namjoo and Amir Tataloo .
