Nickname 'Benji,' he was the #1 ranked high school basketball player in 1984; the first player from Chicago to receive the distinction. He was tragically shot and killed at the age of 17.
He was the only sophomore to make his high school's varsity team.
He helped Simeon Career Academy win an IHSA Illinois state championship in 1984.
He had a son, Brandon, with his girlfriend Jetun Rush.
