ABOUT BHAVNA VASWANI

Clinical psychologist, philanthropist, and celebrity relative best known as the wife of Academy Award-nominated film director M. Night Shyamalan . She co-founded the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation, which fights poverty and social injustice around the world. She has also advocated for fitness and wellness through her involvement in ventures such as Choreovault Vibe.

She and her family spent her first year in Uganda before relocating to Hong Kong and eventually to the U.S. in the mid-1980s. After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University , she obtained her PhD in clinical developmental psychology from Bryn Mawr College. She began her career working as a therapist in Philadelphia, PA, where she counseled sexual abuse survivors.

She is a co-owner at Vibe Vault Fit, which is a boutique fitness and wellness studio in Pennsylvania. She also began instructing Dance Fitness classes in 2011.

She and M. Night Shyamalan met while attending NYU together. They married in 1993. Together, they are the parents of three daughters - Saleka , Ishana, and Shivani Shyamalan.

Her husband's breakthrough film, The Sixth Sense , starred Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment .
