ABOUT BILLY KING
National Basketball Association (NBA) executive and one-time college basketball star. He served as general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets.
He played basketball at Duke University, serving as team captain in 1988, a year when Duke reached the Final Four in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament.
He belonged to the U.S. Men's National Basketball team that won the silver medal at the 1987 Summer Universiade in Zagreb, Croatia.
He was born and raised in Sterling, Virginia. He wed Melanie Frantz in 2005.
He was President of the 76ers during Allen Iverson 's first season with the team.
