Member of the famous Unser racing family who won the Indianapolis 500 in 1968, 1975 and 1981. He compiled 35 victories across his 258 career Championship Car starts.
He grew up in a racing family with his brother Al.
He became a spokesperson for Amsoil during his career.
He fathered two children, Bobby Jr. and Cindy, with his first wife Barbara Schumaker.
His nephew Al Unser Jr. became a successful IndyCar series driver.
