ABOUT BRIAN BOWEN II
Basketball star nicknamed "Tugs" who played for the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League. In the year 2017, he became a central figure in the FBI's investigation into corruption in college basketball. He committed to play for the University of Louisville Cardinals, but was suspended by the team after allegations that his family accepted payments in exchange for his choice to attend the school. In November of 2017, he was cleared by the FBI.
He played at Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, Michigan. In the year 2015, he transferred to La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana.
He was named a McDonald's All-American as a senior in high school in the year 2017. After withdrawing from the 2018 NBA draft, he signed with the Sydney Kings of the Australian NBL. He later played for the Indiana Pacers and Iowa Wolves.
His parents are Brian Bowen Sr. and Carrie Malecke.
In January of 2018, University of South Carolina coach Frank Martin announced he had enrolled and would join the Gamecocks' basketball program. He did not end up attending the school.
