ABOUT BRIAN MCELHANEY
Screenwriter and actor famed for having co-founded the comedic duo BriTANicK and written for the long-running variety series Saturday Night Live between 2016 and 2017. He has written for events like the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards and has appeared on-screen in series such as How I Met Your Mother and Unforgettable .
He and his BriTANicK co-founder Nick Kocher met while attending summer camp when they were children. He went on to study film at New York University and made his on-screen acting debut in the 2008 short film Suckerpunch.
His work as a writer on Saturday Night Live led him to earn a Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy/Variety/Sketch Series in the year 2018. He has also been nominated for numerous honors in both writing and acting, from a variety of recognition committees including the Streamy Awards and the SXSW Film Festival.
In September 2024, he shared a photo his mother had sent him of the BriTANicK cast on set of its pilot episode on his bjmcelhaney Instagram account.
He appeared in the multi award-winning feature film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Andrew Garfield , Emma Stone , and Jamie Foxx in 2014.
