ABOUT BRUCE PETTY
Prolific cartoonist and one of Australia's most famous political satirists who became known for working with Melbourne's The Age newspaper.
He got his start when he was just 20, accepting an animation gig with the Owen Brothers studio in 1949.
In 2007, he was the recipient of the AFI Best Documentary Director Award for his film Global Haywire, which he wrote, directed, and animated.
He married novelist Kate Grenville.
He has said that he was inspired to create after reading the book The Outsider, which was later adapted for the silver screen by Nicholas Jarecki .
