Award-winning composer and pianist most regarded for "Pools of Light," "Afterplay," and other classical contemporary pieces.

He attended Hampshire College before starting his music career.

His composition "Todd Pond" was awarded the Keyboard Magazine Soundpage Award, a hugely prestigious honor.

He was born in New York City, but moved to California when he was young and was raised in Palo Alto.

He studied at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, where Yusef Lateef once taught music.
