ABOUT BYRON P. HOWARD
American animator, character designer, film director, producer, and screenwriter who is best known as the director of the Walt Disney Animation Studios films Bolt , Tangled , Zootopia , and Encanto .
He attended Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He began a Disney studio internship soon after his studies were completed. He was later hired in the year 1994. He worked as an animator on films including Pocahontas , Mulan , Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear prior to moving to the director's chair.
He is the first LGBT director to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature twice for his work on Zootopia and Encanto.
He was born in Misawa, Japan, and raised in both Philadelphia and Issaquah, Washington. He is openly gay and has been married since the year 1988.
He worked with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the movie Encanto.
