ABOUT C. DOUGLASS BUCK
Republican politician who served two terms as Governor of Delaware from 1929 to 1937 during the Great Depression. He was also a U.S. Senator from from 1943 to 1949.
He went to the University of Pennsylvania Engineering School and served some time in the U.S. Army during World War I.
His former home, Buena Vista, was made into a conference center after being donated to the state of Delaware.
He married Alice du Pont and they had two children.
He was elected Governor of Delaware when Herbert Hoover was President of the United States.
