He graduated in 1986 from the Nicolae Bălcescu Institute of Agronomy and obtained a doctorate in pedology. One of his first jobs was as the head of the Office for the Environment of the Romanian Parliament.

Some of his beliefs are a little odd. For example, he doesn't believe that men have landed on the moon. He also believes that carbonated beverages contain nanochips that can enter into the body.
