British Formula One race car driver named as Ferrari's test driver in 2021. He was the runner-up of the 2020 F2 world championship season.

He first drove a kart when he was seven years old and started his competitive driving career in 2012, in junior karting races.

When he was 16, he became Red Bull's first-ever driver to progress from karts to Formula Three.

His interest in racing began because of his father, Steve Ilott, who was a motorsport enthusiast and bought him a kart as a child.

He finished runner-up to Mick Schumacher in the 2020 Formula 2 Championship.
