Honduran politician who was the President of his country from 1998 to 2002. He is a member of the country's Liberal Party.
He studied Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University in the United States.
He spent much of his presidency trying to help Honduras recover from Hurricane Mitch, which killed thousands and destroyed the national economy.
His father is Honduran journalist Oscar Flores Midence.
He has a political friendship with former American President Bill Clinton .
