ABOUT CEDRIC MAXWELL

Small forward known as Cornbread, who played in the NBA from 1977-1988, most notably for the Boston Celtics.

He played college basketball for Charlotte, before being selected 12th overall in the 1977 NBA draft.

He was the MVP of the 1981 NBA Finals, leading his Boston Celtics to a 4-2 series win against the Houston Rockets.

He was born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina.

He won two championships alongside teammate Larry Bird .
