ABOUT CéSAR SAMPAIO

Former Brazilian professional football player who is known for his work as a defensive midfielder on both the Yokohama Flugels club and Brazil's national team from 1990 until 2000. He is also known for being a football analyst for ESPN Brazil.

His career first began in 1986 as part of the Santos club. He began playing for the Brazil national team in 1990. He officially retired from the sport in 2004 and began his commentary work the following year.

He is also known for having been the football director for the club Palmeiras. He is also known for having been the FIFA World Cup runner up in 1998 and the FIFA Confederations Cup champion in 1997.

He was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

He played alongside Giovanni Oliveira in the 1998 FIFA World Cup as part of Brazil's national team.
