ABOUT CHARLES BASSEY

Center who was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year following his debut with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in 2019. He was also named to the All-Conference USA first-team in 2019.

He moved to the US from Nigeria at age 14 to continue playing basketball. He was a consensus five-star recruit as a high school senior.

He was the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year following his 2019 freshman season with Western Kentucky. He was the Jordan Brand Classic International MVP in 2016.

His father's name is Akpan.

He was considered one of the best centers in the 2018 recruiting class alongside Bol Bol .
