ABOUT CHARLES ALBERT TINDLEY
American Methodist minister and gospel music composer who is considered one of the founding fathers of American gospel music. He was frequently referred to as "The Prince of Preachers".
He educated himself and became a Methodist minister.
He grew up during the Civil War and afterwards, he moved to Philadelphia.
His father was a slave, and his mother was free.
He was a gospel composer, while Marvin Sapp was a gospel singer.
