Filmmaker and producer who produced movies like What We Do in the Shadows and Jojo Rabbit . From the years 2011 to 2018, she was married to Taika Waititi . In the year 2022, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Merit in New Zealand for her contributions to Māori and the film industry.

She met Taika Waititi when she interviewed him for a documentary series.

She produced short films such as Meathead, Ebony Society, and Night Shift. She directed short films like Forgive Me, Little King, and Waru.

She has three children. At the young age of 20, she had a son named Maia. She and Taika Waititi have two other daughters named Te Hinekahu and Matewa Kiritapu.

She co-produced te reo language versions of The Lion King and Frozen .
