ABOUT CHRIS WOOD

New Zealand professional soccer player famous for his skill as a striker. He joined Newcastle United FC in 2022 after having played for Leicester City , Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. , and numerous other clubs. At the international level, he represented New Zealand in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

He began his youth career with Onehunga Sports.

He was the EFL Championship Player of the Month for January 2017. He was the Leeds United Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season. His soccer fame has helped him to accumulate over 100,000 followers on Instagram.

His parents are Grant and Julie Wood. His sister, Chelsey Wood, is also a soccer player.

He and Kieran Trippier have played as teammates for Newcastle United.
