Jazz artist whose career intersected with many of the famous artists of his day, including Max Roach , Art Pepper , and Bob Cooper.

He was a student at the New England Conservatory of Music. His musical ambitions changed to jazz soon after he enrolled.

He recorded numerous albums beginning in 1978, primarily for Japanese labels.

He was the older brother of famed trumpeter Stu Williamson .

He had a career as an NBC pianist beginning in 1968. His first gig was for The Andy Williams Show.
