Popular television personality, film critic, and journalist known for her work with the BBC. She's hosted such programs as The Traitors UK, Strictly Come Dancing , and The Great British Sewing Bee.

She graduated from New Hall, Cambridge with a degree in art history.

She hosted a dating game show called Three's a Crowd.

She married producer Kris Thykier in 2000 and they later welcomed three children. Actress Sophie Winkleman is her half sister.

She and Terry Wogan co-hosted Eurovision: Your Decision, the audition portion of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest .
