ABOUT CLYDE GERONIMI
Acclaimed animator and director remembered for his work on classic Disney films like Cinderella, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty. In 1978, he received the Winsor McCay Award for his lifetime achievement in animation from the International Animated Film Society.
He immigrated to the United States from Italy as a child and began his career in animation with J.R. Bray Studios.
He directed 1941's Lend a Paw, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
He is survived by two sons.
He worked with Woody Woodpecker creator Walter Lantz at J.R. Bray Studios.
