She met her former husband during her freshman year at Michigan State University .
From 1983 to 1984, she was Regis Philbin 's co-host on The Morning Show in New York City.
She married Steve Garvey in 1971, and they divorced in 1983. The couple had two daughters.
She replaced Sarah Purcell as Regis Philbin's co-host of the talk show A.M. Los Angeles on KABC-TV.
