Former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush , American political commentator, and Random House book publishing executive. She began hosting The Five, a talk show on Fox News, in 2011. She served as the White House Press Secretary from 2007 to 2009.

She studied mass communications, political science, and Spanish at Colorado State University - Pueblo and later public affairs reporting at the University of Illinois - Springfield.

She taught political communications part-time at George Washington University. She has garnered a large following on her danaperino Instagram page where she posts lifestyle and pet photos.

She married Peter McMahon in 1998, whom she met on a flight to Denver, Colorado. She has a Vizsla named Jasper who's featured all over her Instagram.

Barack Obama once nominated her to serve on the Broadcasting Board of Governors.
