Wrestling-focused UFC fighter who started his career at heavyweight. He transitioned to light heavyweight in 2014 and took home the light heavyweight title in 2015.

He was an NCAA Division I Freestyle wrestler at Oklahoma State University - Stillwater.

He was the team captain of the U.S. Olympic wrestling team in 2008.
